Frasure closing in on 1,000 yards rushing

PRESTONSBURG - Junior quarterback Jarredd Jarrell has passed for over 1,500 yards and sophomore running back Dalton Frasure is closing in on 1,000 rushing yards for the Prestonsburg Blackcats.

In nine games, Jarrell has completed 130 of 214 passes for 1,554 yards, 11 touchdowns and five interceptions.

During the same stretch, Dalton Frasure has rushed 130 times for 890 yards and 17 touchdowns.

Jarrell has rushed 133 times for 570 yards and eight touchdowns.

Chase Ousley has complimented the Prestonsburg rushing attack by taking 30 attempts for 160 yards and two scores.

Frasure, Prestonsburg’s leading scorer with 20 touchdowns, also leads the Blackcats in receiving. Frasure has hauled in 37 receptions for 426 yards and three touchdowns.

Chatlin Jarell has hauled in a team-high 39 receptions for 411 yards and two touchdowns.

Via 17 catches, Evan Jarrell has reeled in a team-high four touchdown receptions, totalling 263 yards with his grabs.

Prior to suffering a season-ending injury, Jackson Reed had made 23 receptions for 244 yards and one touchdown.

Steven Little has caught 10 passes for 109 yards and one score.

Defensively, Ousley leads Prestonsburg with 97 tackles, 41 of which are solo stops. Sean White (70 tackles), Brennan Goble (67 tackles), Evan Jarrell (56 tackles) and Kyle Wallace (53 tackles) are other leading tackles for the Blackcats.

Prestonsburg will entertain non-district rival Lawrence County in a regular-season finale tonight at Josh Francis Field/Blackcat Stadium.

Kickoff for the Prestonsburg-Lawrence County football game is set for 7:30 p.m.
