PRESTONSBURG - The Prestonsburg Lady Blackcats took advantage of an opportunity to enact some revenge against Letcher County Central on Tuesday evening. Prestonsburg, hosting 14th Region member Letcher County, turned in a stellar defensive effort and produced enough offense to prevail, defeating the Lady Cougars 3-1.


The Lady Blackcats returned to the win column after suffering a 3-6 loss to Letcher County Central on Aug. 29.


Prestonsburg dealt Letcher County Central its first loss this season.


Following the win, Prestonsburg improved to 4-1.


With the loss, Letcher County Central slipped to 4-1.


In the latest meeting, Katie Porter paced Prestonsburg with two goals. Jackie Kidd added one goal and an assist for the Lady Blackcats.


Allyson DeRossett and Hannah Little delivered one assist apiece for Prestonsburg in the impressive win.


Defensively, Prestonsburg goalkeeper Maddy Ousley limited Letcher County Central throughout the match, holding the visiting team to only one goal.


Prestonsburg was hosting Perry County Central on Thursday evening. The Prestonsburg-Perry County Central girls’ soccer game ended too late to make this edition.
