PRESTONSBURG - The Prestonsburg girls’ soccer team notched its fourth straight win on Tuesday, toppling the visiting Paintsville Lady Tigers 8-0. Prestonsburg, under the guidance of head coach Scott Porter, notched its second straight win via shutout. In the process, Prestonsburg handed Paintsville its fifth straight setback.

With the win, Prestonsburg moved to 7-1.

Following the loss, Paintsville slipped to 3-7.

Katie Porter led Prestonsburg with four goals. Porter leads the Lady Blackcats in scoring this season.

Jackie Kidd followed closely behind, finishing with three goals. Kidd also dealt out a game-high three assists for the Lady Blackcats.

Carly Burchett contributed one goal and one assist for the Prestonsbvurg girls’ soccer team in the winning effort.

Hannah Little added one assist for the Lady Blackcats, who took control early and never faltered en route to the convincing victory.

Prestonsburg goalkeeper Maddy Ousley turned in another outstanding defensive performance, holding Paintsville scoreless in the regular-season contest. Ousley has been a defensive stopper for the Lady Blackcats throughout the current campaign.

In eight outings, Prestonsburg has outscored opponents 43-11.

The Lady Blackcats were hosting Sheldon Clark on Thursday evening. The Prestonsburg-Sheldon Clark girls’ soccer match ended too late to make this edition.
