MILLIGAN, Tenn. - The Alice Lloyd College women’s basketball team split games in the Milligan College Classic late last week. Alice Lloyd College defeated Selma University in the opening game then fell to Carroll College.

Alice Lloyd 85, Selma 53: Alice Lloyd College rolled in its opening game in the Milligan College Classic on Friday, defeating Selma University 85-53.

Alice Lloyd outscored Selma 50-31 in the second half.

Senior forward Ariel Nickell led Alice Lloyd with game-high totals. Nickell poured in 27 points and grabbed 16 rebounds for the Lady Eagles.

Taylor Arthur, a freshman forward, scored 13 points and pulled down 12 rebound for the Alice Lloyd women’s team.

Aiding the Alice Lloyd attack, junior guard Carla Booth scored 16 points and dished out five assists.

CC 75, ALC 54: After carrying a hard-fought 27-25 lead into halftime, NAIA Division I member Carroll College pulled away to defeat Alice Lloyd College 75-54 on Saturday in a women’s basketball game played as part of the Milligan College Classic.

Kalee Junkermier led a balanced Carroll College scoring effort with 18 points.

Ariel Nickell paced Alice Lloyd with a double-double. Nickell led the Lady Eagles with 18 points and 10 rebounds.

Sheldon Clark High School graduate Carla Booth added 17 points for the Lady Eagles.

Alice Lloyd will visit Ohio Christian on Friday night. Tip-off for the Alice Lloyd-Ohio Christian women’s basketball game is set for 7 p.m.
