Lady Eagles fall to Ohio Christian

PIPPA PASSES - The Alice Lloyd College Lady Eagles were back on the court on Friday for a game in Circleville, Ohio against the Ohio Christian University TrailBlazers. Host OCU managed to edge non-conference rival ALC, defeating the Lady Eagles 90-86.


Alice Lloyd took a hard-fought four-point lead into the half. The Lady Eagles led 43-39 at intermission.


Ohio Christian outscored the Lady Eagles 51-43 in the second half to claim the win.


Olivia Davis led Ohio Christian with 21 points.


Ariel Nickell poured in a game-high 35 points for the Lady Eagles. Nickell also hauled in a game-high 17 rebounds and recorded three steals and two assists for the Alice Lloyd women’s basketball team.


Carla Booth followed, scoring 28 points for the Lady Eagles.


Taylor Arthur continued to play well for Alice Lloyd as she scored 13 points and grabbed 14 rebounds.


Nickell named ALC Female Athlete of the Week: Ariel Nickell was named last week’s Alice Lloyd College Female Athlete of the Week. Nickell recently joined the 2,000-point club at Alice Lloyd College. She is only the second woman to join the club in the history of the college’s basketball program.


Nickell entered the week averaging 28 points and 13.8 rebounds per game. The Tazewell, Tennessee native leads NAIA Division II in scoring and rebounding.
