EASTERN - The Allen Central Rebels won two of three games in the Hi-Tech Signs and Graphix Holiday Classic at Prestonsburg. In the opening round of Friday, Allen Central defeated June Buchanan 56-47. Eventual champion Shelby Valley dealt Allen Central its only loss in the tournament on Saturday, defeating the Rebels 60-33. Bouncing back, Allen Central rolled past current 58th District/Floyd County Conference foe Piarist School in the final round, winning 85-50.

Allen Central 56, June Buchanan 47: Allen Central outscored June Buchanan in each of the first three quarters en route to defeating the Crusaders 56-47 in the opening round of the Hi-Tech Signs and Graphix Holiday Classic on Friday.
After taking a 31-22 21 lead into halftime, Allen Central outscored June Buchanan 13-10 in the third quarter.
Braxton Tackett led a balanced Allen Central attack with 15 points. Tackett recorded a double-double, pulling down 11 rebounds to go along with his dozen points.
Junior Handshoe and Austin Salisbury joined Tackett in double figures, finishing the game with 12 points apiece.
Mason Nelson narrowly missed double figures as he netted nine points for the Rebels.
Cameron Hamilton and Jarred Hamilton rounded out the Allen Central scoring with six and two points, respectively.
Cameron Hamilton claimed seven rebounds and Jarred Hamilton chased down six caroms for the Rebels.
Shelby Valley 60, Allen Central 33: Shelby Valley outscored Allen Central 21-5 in the first quarter and used a 20-8 run in the second period to pull away even more before eventually defeating the Rebels 60-33 in the second round of the Hi-Tech Signs and Graphix Holiday Classic at Prestonsburg on Saturday.
Jarred Hamilton led Allen Central with eight points. Cameron Hamilton, Seth Hall and Braxton Tackett added six points apiece for the Rebels.
Tyler Keens chipped in four points, Austin Salisbury scored two and Mason Nelson netted one for Allen Central in the loss.
