BETSY LAYNE - Junior guard Brandy Morrow scored a game-high 21 points to lead Betsy Layne to a 63-21 win over 58th District/Floyd County Conference foe South Floyd on Friday.


With the win, Betsy Layne improved to 8-13 overall and 5-2 in the 58th District/Floyd County Conference.


Following the loss, South Floyd fell to 4-18 overall and 1-7 in the district/conference.


Betsy Layne shot 40.0 percent (26-of-65) from the field. The Ladycats were 5-of-14 (35.7 percent) from 3-point range.


Betsy Layne was 7-of-16 from the foul line in the winning effort.


Morrow was the only Betsy Layne scorer to reach double figures. Narrowly missing double figures, Katie Tackett chipped in nine points for the Ladycats.


In all, a dozen different Betsy Layne players provided scoring. Chloe Johnson chipped in seven points, Emily Kidd contributed six, Jordan Adkins added five, Destiny Compton netted four and Summer Johnson tallied three in Betsy Layne’s win.


Megan Frazier, Eddi Akers, Kaitlin Kidd and Kelsi Tackett pushed in two points apiece for the Ladycats in the victory.
