PIKEVILLE – Another batch of winter weather entered the region on Wednesday, forcing the University of Pikeville men’s and women’s tennis programs to postpone their home-openers with Bluefield (Va.) from Thursday to 1 p.m. on March 12 at Bob Amos Park.

The UPIKE men are currently ranked No. 21 in the NAIA and are 1-1 after splitting a pair of matches against NCAA competition to start the year.

The match with Bluefield will be its first against NAIA competition this season, while also serving as the Mid-South Conference opener for both teams. Bluefield’s men are scheduled to open their season today against Emory & Henry.

On the women’s side, UPIKE has played just one match, losing at NCAA Div. I Morehead State (Ky.) last week. The Ram women are also 0-1 after losing to Emory & Henry 7-1.
