HINDMAN - Allen Central junior pitcher Tanner Hamilton tossed a three-hitter and teammates Trey Aldrich and Cameron Blevins came through at the plate as Allen Central defeated host Knott County Central 9-3 on Tuesday night.
Hamilton, who lost a no-hitter late in the game, held Knott County Central scoreless through the first six innings. The Allen Central pitcher registered eight strikeouts and posted the win.
Junior Handshoe, pitching in relief, notched three strikeouts in one inning or work from the mound.
Knott County Central pitcher Austin Turner took the loss. Turner encountered a talented Allen Central lineup.
The Rebels took advantage of their opportunities at the plate. Allen Central scored nine runs on seven hits.
Determined Allen Central scored first and never trailed. The Rebels broke open a scoreless game in the third inning, pushing across a pair of runs to take a 2-0 lead.
Adding to its lead late, Allen Central scored seven runs over its final two at-bats. Allen Central led 9-0 before Knott Central scored three runs in its last plate appearance.
At the plate, Trey Aldrich and Cameron Blevins led Allen Central with two hits and three RBIs apiece.
Offensively for Knott Central, Caleb Crouch drove in two of the Patriots’ three runs.
