ALLEN - Brandon Kinzer and his No. 18 team invaded the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio on June 5-7 for the 20th edition of the Dirt Late Model Dream. A pair of Twin 25 preliminary programs kicked off the event. On Thursday night, Kinzer finished eighth in both his heat race and his B-Main. Following his initial appearance on the Eldora Speedway track, Kinzer ran ninth in his heat race and seventh in his consolation race on Friday evening. But the Allen native was unable to advance into both 25-lap preliminary main events, which paid $2,500- and $5,000-to-win, respectively.
The tension picked up on Saturday at the 1/2-mile high-banked speedplant as a $100,000 top prize was on the line in the 20th Annual ‘Dirt Late Model Dream. Kinzer ran tenth in his stacked heat race, but later rallied all the way up to fourth in his B-Main. But that was one mere spot away from a coveted transfer position into the 100-lap crown jewel extravaganza.
Kinzer wrapped up his weekend at Eldora by finishing second in the $1,000 to win B-Scramble for non-qualifiers - finishing behind only Dennis Erb, Jr.
The Kinzer team is off the next two weekends.
