The president of the United States entertained a foreign dignitary from Vietnam in the White House some time back. While doing so, the camera lenses were clicking when Mr. Obama began speaking about the former communist dictator of Vietnam Ho Chi Minh. The president spoke of a letter Minh wrote to Harry Truman. Then Mr. Obama went on to compare the former Vietnam Marxist, who had over half-a-million Vietnamese murdered to gain power, to Thomas Jefferson and the founding fathers of America.
I’m sure most of the relatives of the 60,000 Americans who gave their lives in the Vietnam War wouldn’t quite agree with Barack Obama’s comparison.
Some may call the president’s gestures a slip of the tongue or a few gracious drops of dignitary courtesy to the Vietnam representative, but I believe it speaks of character. After all, Barack Obama claimed in 2008 he would “Fundamentally Transform America” and he’s set out to do just that.
In 1973, the rock band Dr. Hook had a hit called “Cover of the Rolling Stone.” The song spoke of the group’s longing to get their photo on the magazine’s cover. A few of the lyrics were: “The thrill we’ve never known is the thrill that’ll getcha when you get your picture on the cover of the Rollin’ Stone. I wanna see my picture on the cover. Wanna buy five copies for my mother. I wanna see my smilin’ face on the cover of the Rollin’ Stone.”
Well … America’s come a long way in 40 years, been transformed so to speak, for the cover of the Rolling Stone magazine for July 2013 was graced by the photo of a terrorist; one who snuffed out innocent lives at a Boston Marathon.
The long rich history of the chaplaincy in the United States military is being forced to undergo a transformation of its own. It’s no longer permissible for servicemen to proselytize, witness or recruit someone to Christianity without the fear of a court-martial. There’s a push to develop “Atheist Chaplains” in the ranks of the United States military. One US Congressman said it’s the most ridiculous thing he’s ever heard, but the Obama administration thinks atheists need someone to talk to besides a religious indoctrinator. Is America’s motto of: “In God We Trust” being transformed into: “In God We Hate?”
Barack Obama wasn’t kidding when he said he would fundamentally transform America. Although a few knew about his background in 2008 many didn’t and some didn’t care. Hordes didn’t pay much attention to that claim he made back then, but many are starting to see the effects of that ideological push the President has blanketed the country with.
What’s the presidential legacy of Barack Hussein Obama going to be? Only history can reveal that, but I believe his legacy won’t be a good one. His administration is tarnished by scandals and corruption.
The president claims the scandals surrounding his administration are phony and are political posturing trumped up by Republicans.
Is it phony to say America’s going through the worst economic recovery in recorded history? Since Barack Obama took office millions of jobs have been lost — is that real suffering or just some posturing?
Obamacare has transformed the standard workweek to 30 hours and the gist of it is universal healthcare. Oddly enough, the Russian dictator Lenin was the first to promise universal healthcare to the masses when he rose to power.
At the current rate of job creation it will take 60 years to get back to the levels of employment in the manufacturing sector that were realized in 2008 when Barack Obama was inaugurated.
Can it be a bogus notion the Obama family has spent over a billion dollars on lavish vacations in the last five years at taxpayer expense?
Is it artificial to say per capita household incomes have declined since 2008?
Can it be fraud to claim the IRS need be abolished in light of all their scandalous deeds?
Or is it superficial to believe America is spying on its own people?
The Marine motto is never leave a man, but is it foolishness to conceive the Obama administration did just that and four Americans were left to die in Benghazi, Libya?
There’s indeed a war being waged, but it’s not against women, minorities, or the impoverished. It’s a transgression, labeled “Fundamental Transformation,” that’s being torn in the very fabric of America.
