PIKEVILLE – It was an afternoon to remember for senior guard Jamar Briscoe, as his 32 points and five steals led the No. 9 University of Pikeville Bears past visiting UC-Clermont 116-77 on the final day of the BB&T Classic.

It was the second win in as many days for the Bears, who also won 92-76 yesterday against Ohio Mid-Western.

Briscoe’s hot shooting night was helped greatly by his perfect 14-of-14 performance from the free-throw line. Senior Trevor Setty added 17 points, and junior Josh Whitaker had 15 points and four assists in a game that saw the Bears introduce their second unit with over ten minutes still to play.

Junior forward Brandon Greene led all players with 10 rebounds to go with his 12 points for another double-double, while senior point guard Chris Johnson was his typical efficient self with 12 points, nine assists, and four steals against a mere two turnovers.

The Bears’ next game will bring them to Marietta, Ga., for a matchup with Life University on Wednesday.

Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
