PAINTSVILLE — Highlands Health Systems was named “Business of the Year” for its new Medical Office Building in Paintsville, by the Paintsville/Johnson County Chamber of Commerce.

Highlands received this award at the Chamber’s Annual Awards Banquet, held recently at Ramada Inn in downtown Paintsville. The Chamber holds this banquet every year, presenting five awards to local businesses - Business Person of the Year, Business of the Year, Community Service Award, Volunteers of the Year and O.T. Dorton Presidential Award.

Highlands Medical Office Building - Paintsville is a multimillion dollar complex that provides a wide variety of medical services including family practice, physical therapy, internal medicine, pediatrics, laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, and the newest offering, Highlands After Hours Care.

The Medical Office Building originally opened in September 2010 with Hometown Family Care and Physical Therapy. Radiology and Lab were implemented April 2010, Pharmacy was added later that November. This past June, Highlands opened After Hours Care, which provides health care on a walk-in basis on weekends and after 5 p.m. on weekdays.

“One of our goals is the recruitment and commitment to new businesses wishing to locate in Paintsville and Johnson County,” said Fran Jarrell, executive director, Paintsville/Johnson County Chamber of Commerce. “With an experienced and enthusiastic executive board, we are able to provide a sounding board as well as a repertoire of experience to such businesses. We are very proud to be a part of the continued growth and renewal of Paintsville and Johnson County.”
