PRESTONSBURG — The frequently targeted Exxon Tiger Mart was the scene of yet another robbery late Tuesday night, when a man entered the store with a knife and demanded money.

According to Prestonsburg Assistant Police Chief Brian Hall, a man entered the Prestonsburg Exxon Tiger Mart on U.S. 23 a little after 10 p.m. Tuesday night. The man brandished a knife and demanded money of the cashier.

According to Hall, the cashier complied with the robber’s request, and the thief made off with an undisclosed amount of cash and also took the store’s phone, presumably so they would not be able to contact police.

There are currently no suspects. The robber was last scene fleeing the store on foot, headed north along U.S. 23.

It was a little over a year ago that the store was last robbed.
