Loretta Harvel, 74, of Tram, died Sunday, March 10, 2013 at Pikeville Medical Center.
She was born April 9, 1938, in Pikeville, to the late Leonard Steffey and Anna Fife Steffey. She was the widow of Billy Harvel. Loretta was a homemaker and disabled caretaker, and a member of the Betsy Layne Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Claude Steffey, Charlie Steffey, Leon Steffey and James Steffey; and sisters, Martha Ellen Elkins, Mae Fern Worrix, Bonnie Ruth Adkins, Naomi Steffey and Harrietta Dean Steffey.
She is survived by her son, William Christopher Harvel, of Tram; brother, John Pitts Steffey, of Oceana, W.Va.; sisters, Magdalene Scalf, of Oceana, W.Va., Helen Smith, of Tram, Eulah Sartor, of Sesser, Ill., Hanna Whisenat, of Oceana, W.Va., and Sheila Kaye Horton, of Henderson, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Christopher Franklin and Christy Michelle; and four great grandchildren, Angela Renee, Tyann Joyce, Allie Raine and Holly Nicole.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, March 12, at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, in Martin, with Tommy Spears officiating. Burial followed the service in Davidson Memorial Gardens, at Ivel.
