HINDMAN – Justin Jackson and Mickey Parsons each rushed for 100 yards or more Friday night as visiting Allen Central fought off Knott County Central 38-32 in the final regular-season game for both teams.

Jackson led Allen Central to its fifth straight win, rushing 15 times for 175 yards and two touchdowns. He also ranked as one of Allen Central’s leading defenders (nine tackles).

Parsons rushed seven times for 100 yards one touchdown.

Knott County Central concentrated a lot of its defensive focus on seniors Logan Crowder and Hunter Crowder. Logan Crowder rushed 16 times for 54 yards and one touchdown. Hunter Crowder fought his way to 18 yards on three carries for the Rebels.

Allen Central quarterback Chris Stumbo completed both of his passing attempts for 30 yards and one touchdown.

Logan Crowder and Micah Harlow snagged the receptions for the Rebels. Harlow’s lone catch translated into a 20-yard scoring grab.

Harlow made 10 tackles to lead the Allen Central defense. Logan Crowder and Shane Hamilton had nine stops apiece for the Rebels.

Hamilton and Salyer each recovered fumbles as the Rebels avoided a loss in the regular-season finale.

Allen Central is pitted against Pineville on Friday (Nov. 6) in the opening round of the Class A State Playoffs. The Rebels will host the Mountain Lions beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the postseason tilt.

Allen Central is one of three Class A teams 9-1. No Class A team ended the regular-season undefeated.

In 10 regular-season games, Allen Central outscored opponents 422-157.

In another postseason game of local interest, Prestonsburg will host Knott County Central in the Class 2A State Playoffs. Kickoff for the Prestonsburg-Knott County Central game is also set for 7:30 p.m.
