Three P’burg girls’ soccer players earn all-region honors

LOUISA - Three members of the Prestonsburg High School girls’ soccer team have earned All-15th Region recognition. Prestonsburg’s Katie Porter and Jackie Kidd have both been named First Team All-15th Region. Lady Blackcat Caitlin Kidd has been named Second Team All-15th Region.

Prestonsburg finished runner-up to eventual 15th Region champion Lawrence County in the 57th District. The Lady Blackcats, under the direction of head coach Scott Porter, concluded the 2012 season 12-11-0. Prestonsburg fell to Pikeville in the 15th Region Tournament.

The All-15th Region First and Second teams follow.

First Team All-15th Region: Shelby Hay (Lawrence County); Micaela Bush (Pikeville); Mollie Workman (Lawrence County); Frankie Dawahare (Pikeville); Katie Porter (Prestonsburg); Karissa Boyd (Paintsville); Rachel Smith (Shelby Valley); Megan Smith (Belfry); Amanda Haynes (Lawrence County); Jackie Kidd (Prestonsburg); Fallon Smith (Pikeville).

Second Team All-15th Region: Chloe Blair (Johnson Central); Deelaney Hackney (Pikeville); Jessica Branham (Pikeville); Caitlin Kidd (Prestonsburg); Ashleigh Adkins (Lawrence County); Catherine Clay (Lawrence County); Hannah Dials (Johnson Central); Andria Hansford (Paintsville); Chessi Deguzman (Paintsville); Skylar Chapman (Lawrence County); Courtney Wright (Shelby Valley).
