PRESTONSBURG — Curtains will rise tonight on Appalachian Community Theatres’ latest production, “Aladdin Jr.,” featuring a host of local talent.
A special invitation-only performance was held for a receptive audience Thursday night, at the Mountain Arts Center.
The play closely follows the version of the story presented in the Disney film, “Aladdin,” complete with a giant, blue genie.
Regular performances of the play will be held at the MAC Friday and Satuday nights, beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10. The acting troupe will also hold matinee performances for local schools on Monday and Tuesday.
On Saturday, from 5 to 6:30 p.m., there will be a special children’s VIP backstage event. Guests will be allowed to visit backstage before the show to meet with the actors. Kids will also get to make their own snack to take into the show. Tickets for the special event are $20.
