Police release pictures of bank robber
by Ralph B. Davis
Managing Editor

ALLEN — Kentucky State Police has released surveillance photos taken during a bank robbery earlier this week.

Police are hoping the photos showing a heavily-disguised man will nonetheless trigger something in someone’s mind that might provide a clue to catching the robber.

As reported earlier this week, police received a report at 1:41 p.m. that the Allen branch of Citizens National Bank had been robbed. According to information obtained at the scene, a man entered the bank, brandishing a knife and demanding money. After getting an undisclosed amount of cash, he then fled on foot.

The male is described as approximately 5 feet, 6 inches tall, with a thin build. He was wearing a white thermal shirt, blue jeans, gloves and a black hood covering his face and head.

No one was injured during the incident.

The incident remains under investigation by KSP Det. Tony Tackett. Police ask anyone with information to contact Kentucky State Police Post 9 in Pikeville at (606) 433-7711 or (800) 222-5555.

Scandal season at the Obama White House
It’s not an easy task, defending President Barack Obama from his enemies. The “scandals” keep popping up like dandelions — all of them explainable, after a fashion. Taken together, the explanations begin to sound like “the dog ate my homework.” For example: No one would deny that the attack ...
