Prescription medication takeback day planned at local Food City stores
Food City and Operation UNITE will partner up this weekend to collect and safely dispose of unwanted or unused medications as part of National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day. Sheriff resigns as KSA president
Sheriff John K Blackburn, who pleaded guilty to a drunk driving charge three weeks ago, has resigned as head of the Kentucky Sheriffs Association. Blackburn assumed leadership of the statewide sheriffs organization last fall. Jailer to retire after two decades
PRESTONSBURG — Longtime Jailer Roger Webb will step down from his position next week, after 20 years of service. Webb confirmed to Times staff Tuesday that he is in fact retiring as of April 30, and will leave the responsibility of running the jail to Cheyenne McKinney, who Judge-Executive R.D. “Doc” Marshall is expected to appoint to the position next week. McCARR — An ambulance driver was arrested last weekend after Kentucky State Police officers say he was driving under the influence.
