PRESTONSBURG – The Prestonsburg High School volleyball team participated in this year’s Bluegrass State Games, held in Lexington over the weekend.

Under the direction of second-year head coach Kristal Allen, the Lady Blackcats fared well throughout the preseason tournament.

“Our preseason is going good,” Allen said. “We just got back from the Bluegrass games in Lexington and I would say it was a successful weekend. We competed with every team and played very well, considering we are basically a new team with several newcomers that will see some playing time. The competition over the weekend was great and I am very proud of the way the team responded. We played hard and fought on every serve.”
