PRESTONSBURG – Prestonsburg High School football players had direct input when it came to ordering uniforms for the 2017 season. The current Blackcats designed the uniforms they’ll wear during the upcoming gridiron campaign.

“We let the players design the new uniforms,” Prestonsburg Coach John DeRossett said. “Our guys get a bunch of nice stuff, they work hard and we reward them with some nice uniforms and helmets. We have three helmet combinations to wear with the uniforms and we are considering a chrome helmet.”

Prestonsburg’s weight room and locker room have also been remodeled.

“Our numbers in the weight room are really good,” DeRossett added. “We have also remodeled our weight room and locker room area with new lockers, lighting and rubber flooring.”

Following another appearance in the Class 2A State Playoffs, Prestonsburg concluded the 2016 season 6-5 under the direction of DeRossett, who is the Blackcats’ all-time winningest head coach. Adams Middle School and Allen Elementary School football teams feed into the Prestonsburg High School gridiron program.
