Staff Report

PIPPA PASSES – The Alice Lloyd College volleyball team will look to some returning sophomores for leadership and a new head coach to guide as the season tips off its 2015 season.

Kari Huber, who played collegiately at John Brown University in Arkansas before transferring to Northeastern State in Oklahoma, is the new head coach of the Alice Lloyd College volleyball team. She has coached at various levels for 23 years.

The ALC volleyball team brings back three seniors – Delaney Pritchard, Clista Gussler and captain Sarrah Huber. Also returning for the Lady Eagles are junior Amber Reynolds, along with sophomores Maggie Wilkes, Savannah Sizemore and Desiree Ratliff. All of the ALC juniors and seniors will provide the foundation for the upcoming season.

Four freshmen newcomers – Ariel Williams, Katelyn White, Tiffani McClanahan and redshirt Mackenzie Burke – will be asked to contribute immediately.

The Lady Eagles will host Asbury University for their first home match on Friday. ALC competed in a tri-match at Appalachian Bible College to open the season. The Lady Eagles compiled a 1-1 record in the tri-match.

Alice Lloyd College, a longstanding member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), became a member of the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) in July.
