Lady Blackcats turn back Pikeville

PRESTONSBURG – Prestonsburg defeated Pikeville 6-1 in a girls’ high school soccer game on Thursday.

With the win, Prestonsburg improved to 8-1-2.

The Lady Blackcats earned their fourth straight win, winning for the seventh times in nine outings.

Following the loss, Pikeville dropped to 1-8-1.

Five different Prestonsburg players provided scoring in the victory.

Jackie Kidd paced Prestonsburg with two goals.

Accompanying Kidd in the Prestonsburg scoring column, Carly Burchett, Hannah Little, McKenzie Little and Christin Mitchell chipped in one goal each.

Hannah Little distributed a pair of assists for Lady Blackcats in the victory.

McKenzie Little added one assist for Prestonsburg in the victory.

Leading the Lady Blackcats defensively, goalkeeper Maddy Ousley limited Pikeville throughout the girls’ contest.

Longtime rivals, the Prestonsburg and Pikeville girls’ soccer teams met for the second time in the 2015 season with the Lady Blackcats completing a two-game regular-season sweep.
