Lady Blackcats shut out Sheldon Clark, 7-0

PRESTONSBURG – Prestonsburg shut out familiar foe Sheldon Clark 7-0 in a 57th District girls’ soccer game on Tuesday (Sept. 29).

Jackie Kidd recorded a hat trick to lead Prestonsburg to the win.

In addition to Kidd’s three goals. Hannah Little, McKenzie Little and Makayla Slone added scoring for the Lady Blackcats.

Following Kidd in the Prestonsburg scoring column, Hannah Little netted two goals.

Rounding out the Lady Blackcat scoring, McKenzie Little and Slone scored one goal apiece.

McKenzie Little, Jillian Kidd and Cassandra Richie distributed one assist apiece for the Lady Blackcats in the convincing victory.

Defensively for Prestonsburg, goalkeeper Hannah Stratton held Sheldon Clark scoreless.

In another match on Monday, Letcher County Central defeated the Lady Blackcats 3-1.

Letcher County Central 3, Prestonsburg 1: Host Letcher County Central, an opponent from the neighboring 14th Region, prevented Prestonsburg from remaining in the win column on Monday, defeating the Lady Blackcats 3-1.

Hannah Little scored Prestonsburg’s lone goal in the loss.
