POWELL, Tenn. – Alice Lloyd College pulled away to defeat host Crown College 99-68 in a men’s college basketball game on Thursday.
With the win, Alice Lloyd evened its overall record to 2-2.
The Eagles, under the direction of veteran head coach J.R. Hammond, dominated from start to finish. Visiting Alice Lloyd owned an advantage in every positive category, turning in an all-around performance.
Alice Lloyd played sold defense in the opening half, holding the host team to just 29-percent shooting. The Eagles led 54-30 at halftime.
Alice Lloyd continued to excel offensively and defensively throughout the second half, holding Crown to only 29.4-percent shooting for the game.
Prestonsburg native Shane Hall paced Alice Lloyd with a team-high 17 points. Hall is a Johnson Central High School graduate. Paintsville High School product Trevor Tiller, Austin Crisp and Zac Crawford accompanied Hall in double figures in the scoring column.
Leading Alice Lloyd inside, Deondre Warren pulled down a team-high 10 rebounds.The Eagles also dominated the backboards as a team, outrebounding Crown 61-42.
Luke Dalton led Crown College with a double-double, scoring 22 points and pulling down 11 rebounds, both game-highs.
