Kendrick, Tackett pace Bobcats

Jordan Kendrick and Morgan Tackett helped to lead Betsy Layne throughout its 2015 season.


BETSY LAYNE – Junior quarterback Jordan Kendrick and senior wide receiver Morgan Tackett led Betsy Layne throughout the 2015 season, pacing the Bobcats in passing and ranking second in rushing.

Kendrick, a first-year starter at quarterback for the Bobcats, completed 48-of-104 passes for 626 yards, four touchdowns and nine interceptions. On the ground, Kendrick rushed 70 times for 309 yards and two touchdowns.

Morgan Tackett led the Bobcats in rushing, finishing with 329 yards and three touchdowns via 52 carries.

Tackett led Betsy Layne in receiving, hauling in 22 receptions for 423 yards and five touchdowns.

The Bobcats concluded the 2015 season 0-10 after dropping games to South Floyd, Morgan County, Sheldon Clark, Magoffin County, Knott County Central, Leslie County, Shelby Valley, Allen Central, East Ridge and Prestonsburg. But the Bobcats showed improvement.

Opponents, however, outscored Betsy Layne 484-94.

Defensively, Zach Hamilton led Betsy Layne with a game-high 47 tackles. Another key defender, Logan Layne, posted 42 tackles for the Bobcats.

Betsy Layne, under the direction of head coach Jon Parsons, has turned its collective focus to the 2016 season.
