Fraley inks with Pikeville women’s golf program

Sheldon Clark senior MacKenzie Fraley signed with the University of Pikeville women’s golf team during a ceremony held at her school.


PIKEVILLE – Sheldon Clark senior MacKenzie Fraley signed a scholarship agreement to join the University of Pikeville women’s golf team for the 2016-17 season, UPIKE head coach Nelson Scott announced on Tuesday.

Fraley is the daughter of Greg and Cathy Fraley and was a member of Sheldon Clark’s first girls golf team, while also being a member of the girls basketball team that advanced to the second round of the Sweet 16 in in 2012.

Led by Fraley, Sheldon Clark has won the regional All-A Tournament the past two seasons. Fraley captured the regional championship this season, making school history again by being the first Sheldon Clark girl to qualify for the state tournament.

Fraley is a part of the Sheldon Clark journalism class, allowing her to write articles for “The Mountain Citizen.” She is a staff writer for the school’s first magazine, called “All Things Cardinal”, and participated in a a variety of videos, including a “Don’t Text and Drive” PSA for Sheldon Clark.
