PRESTONSBURG – Prestonsburg High School standout Dalton Frasure will have the opportunity to play college football closer to home. Over the weekend, Frasure committed to play for Morehead State University. He had previously committed to Austin Peay State University.
In December, Frasure has been named the Class 2A, District 8 Player of the Year by the Kentucky Football Coaches Association (KFCA).
Frasure rushed 233 times for 1,430 yards and 16 touchdowns during his senior season with the Blackcats. The Prestonsburg senior also hauled in 13 receptions for 224 yards and four touchdowns. Defensively, Frasure posted 86 total tackles, including 29 solo stops.
Frasure reached the 4,000 yards rushing plateau during his final season. The productive Frasure was a four-year starter for the Blackcats, rushing for 4,489 yards and 66 touchdowns.
Earlier in the month, Frasure was named to the Lexington Herald-Leader’s 2015 Class of the Commonwealth, which honored the state’s top senior high school football players.
Morehead State, under the direction of head coach Rob Tenyer, finished 2015 7-4 overall and 6-2 in the Pioneer Football League. The Eagles’ seven wins is the most in a single season for a Morehead State football team since 2007.
