PRESTONSBURG – Prestonsburg High School standout Dalton Frasure made his college choice official on Wednesday, signing with the Morehead State University football program during a ceremony in the PHS library.
In December, Frasure was named the Class 2A, District 8 Player of the Year by the Kentucky Football Coaches Association (KFCA).
Frasure rushed 233 times for 1,430 yards and 16 touchdowns during his senior season with the Blackcats. The Prestonsburg senior also hauled in 13 receptions for 224 yards and four touchdowns. Defensively, Frasure posted 86 total tackles, including 29 solo stops.
Frasure reached the 4,000 yards rushing plateau during his final high school season. The productive Frasure was a four-year starter for the Blackcats, rushing for 4,489 yards and 66 touchdowns.
Frasure was named to the Lexington Herald-Leader’s 2015 Class of the Commonwealth list, which honored the state’s top senior high school football players.
Morehead State, under the direction of head coach Rob Tenyer, finished 2015 7-4 overall and 6-2 in the Pioneer Football League (PFL). The Eagles’ seven wins is the most in a single season for a Morehead State University football team since 2007.
Frasure had previously been committed to Austin Peay State University.
Prestonsburg Coach John DeRossett was quick to compliment Frasure.
“Dalton is an outstanding young man from a great family,” DeRossett said. “He has set many records in his career at PHS and we look forward to watching him play at Morehead.”
