HI HAT – Host South Floyd defeated familiar 15th Region foe Pikeville 64-57 at Raider Arena on Friday night.
With the win, South Floyd improved to 12-9.
Pikeville dropped to 11-13 with the loss.
South Floyd shot 52.9 percent (27-of-51) from the field. The Raiders went 3-for-13 from 3-point range.
South Floyd shot 53.8 percent (7-of-13) from the free throw line.
The Raiders edged Pikeville 32-31 in the rebounding column.
South Floyd featured three scorers in double figures.
Poppa Trammell paced South Floyd with 20 points. Trammell drained a pair of 3-point field goals for the Raiders.
Jacob Collins scored 14 points and Brady Conn posted a double-double, delivering 12 points and a game-high 10 rebounds for South Floyd in the victory.
J.R. Tackett chipped in eight points, Blade Slone added five points, Andrew Tackett posted three points and Brady Ousley contributed two points for the Raiders.
Pikeville shot 37.3 percent (22-of-59) from the field. Faring better beyond the arc, Pikeville went 11-of-25 (44 percent) from 3-point range.
The Panthers shot 40 percent (2-of-5) from the free throw line.
Wyatt Battaile led Pikeville with a game-high 22 points.
Flirting with a double-double, Battaile pulled down nine rebounds.
Blaine May scored 13 points and Cody Charles tossed in 10 points for the Panthers.
