Caudill, Wright lead Rebels over Cavaliers

JENKINS – Dylan Caudill scored 19 points and pulled down a game-best 10 rebounds to lead Allen Central past host Jenkins 73-46 in a boys’ high school basketball game on Thursday night.

With the win, Allen Central improved to 12-13.

Jenkins slipped to with the loss.

Accompanying Caudill in double figures for the Rebels, Bailey Wright added 14 points.

Narrowly missing double figures, Cameron Blevins scored nine points for Allen Central in the win.

Allen Central delivered a balanced offensive performance. Cameron Nelson, Bret Samons and Koby Slone chipped in eight points the Rebels.

Visiting Allen Central shook off a slow start. Jenkins edged the Rebels 15-14 in the first quarter but faced a deficit at halftime and following the conclusion of the third quarter. Allen Central led 36-29 at halftime and stretched its lead shortly after intermission, outscoring Jenkins 15-5 in the third period.

Rounding out the Allen Central scoring, Seth Hall and Zack Laton tossed in four points and three points, respectively.

Justin Phipps paced Jenkins with a game-high 21 points. Phipps was the only Cavalier to reach double figures in the scoring column.

Finishing one shot short of reaching double figures, Dallas Simon scored eight points for Jenkins in the lopsided loss.

Other Cavaliers to dent the scoring column were Joe Ratliff (five points), Hunter Adams (three points), Chad Fleming (three points), Austin Fields (two points) and Matt Jessey (two points).
