Stumbo named KIAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week

FLORENCE — Cody Stumbo averaged 20 points per game in three victories for the Alice Lloyd College men’s basketball team last week and has been named the KIAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for Feb. 8-14 as a result of the performance.

The 6-3 senior guard from Bowling Green led the Eagles (15-10, 10-4 KIAC) to conference wins over Cincinnati Christian and Rio Grande and a non-conference victory over Wilberforce. The big week lifted Alice Lloyd to first-place in the KIAC Capital Division.

Stumbo’s statistics for the week were 20 points per game, 5.3 rebounds per game, a 50 percent field goal shooting percentage and an 83 percent free throw shooting percentage. He started out with a big game of 28 points, seven rebounds and 4 of 7 from 3-point range in a KIAC Game of the Week win over CCU. Stumbo was 4-of-7 from 3-point range in the conference victory over the Cincinnati opponent.
