PHELPS – Allen Central prevailed in its regular-season finale, defeating 15th Region rival Phelps 59-54 in a late-season boys’ high school basketball game on Friday night.
With the win, Allen Central improved to 16-14.
Phelps dropped to 6-22 with the loss.
Allen Central shot 41.7 percent (20-of-48) from the field. Struggling beyond the arc, Allen Central finished 3-for-20 (15 percent) from 3-point range.

Dylan Caudill led Allen Central with a double-double. Caudill scored 20 points and pulled down 14 rebounds for the Rebels in the victory.
Accompanying Caudill in double figures, Seth Hall scored 14 points for the Rebels.
Ethan Smith-Mills narrowly missed double figures, scoring nine points for Allen Central in the hard-fought win.
Longtime 15th Region rivals, Allen Central and Phelps swapped leads throughout the non-district game.
Phelps clung to a 22-21 lead at halftime. Battling back to move ahead, Allen Central led 38-33 at the conclusion of the third quarter.
Additional scorers for the Rebels were Cameron Nelson (five points), Cameron Blevins (four points), Bret Samons (three points), Sam Conley (two points) and Bailey Wright Wright (two points).
Christian Mounts paced Phelps with a game-high 25 points. Joining Mounts in double figures for the Hornets, Benjamin Hurley scored 11 points.
