LEXINGTON – Honors continue to come in for multiple Floyd County basketball players. Three boys’ high school basketball players from Floyd County received Honorable Mention All-State recognition from the Herald-Leader over the weekend. Allen Central’s Seth Hall, Prestonsburg’s Dalton Frasure and South Floyd’s Andrew Tackett were each named Honorable Mention All-State.
After returning from a season-threatening injury he suffered over the summer in early-December, Hall averaged 15.8 points and 5.0 rebounds per game for the Rebels. Hall led Allen Central in scoring throughout his senior season, which ended with a 17-16 overall record following a runner-up finish in the 58th District and an appearance in the 15th Region Boys’ Basketball Tournament.
Frasure, who is set to play football at Morehead State University, averaged a team-high 17.2 points and a team-best 9. rebounds per game for the Blackcats during his senior campaign.
Tackett, who led South Floyd to its second straight 58th District title, averaged a team-high 19.0 points per game for the Raiders. He averaged 6.4 rebounds per game during his senior season. The Tackett-led Raiders concluded the 2015-16 season with a 17-13 overall record.
Players from each of the state’s 16 regions received honors from the Lexington newspaper.
No boys’ basketball players from the 15th Region earned spots on any of the three All-State teams.
