ALLEN – Veteran Late Model driver Brandon Kinzer and his number 18 team invaded Crossville Speedway in Crossville, Tennessee on for the ‘Plateau 50’ on Saturday evening. It marked the first Super Late Model special at the facility in over seven years and Kinzer wound up finishing one spot outside of the top-five.
The Southern Nationals Bonus Series presided over the dirt track event, which featured a $5,000 first-place prize. Kinzer clicked off the third fastest time in Group B during the qualifying session prior to scoring the victory in his consolation event. After starting the 50-lap feature race from the outside of the third row, Kinzer drove up to the fourth spot before losing a couple of positions late in the distance on his way to a strong sixth place effort. The Floyd County native trailed only winner Donald McIntosh, Mike Marlar, Cory Hedgecock, Shanon Buckingham and Billy Ogle, Jr. to the checkered flag.
