Frasure among 13 offensive newcomers for MSU

MOREHEAD – The Morehead State University football program has added 13 players on offense for the 2016 season. The newcomers include three linemen, three wide receivers, two running backs, two slot receivers, two tight ends and one quarterback. Former Prestonsburg High School standout Dalton Frasure is one of the two tight ends.

“The offensive class is loaded with guys who are a perfect fit for our scheme,” MSU Coach Rob Tenyer said. “I feel we have skill and big-skill players who are physically ready to line up and play. Frasure was the 2015 Class 2A, District 8 Player of the Year for veteran head coach John DeRossett at Prestonsburg High School. He rushed for 4,489 career yards and 66 touchdowns during his high school career. As a junior, Frasure rushed for 1,614 yards. During his senior season, Frasure rushed for 1,430 yards. The versatile Frasure had 1,162 career receiving yards and hauled in 14 scoring receptions. Frasure also played on defense as a junior and senior, amassing 119 total tackles.

One of the top players in the history of the tradition-rich Prestonsburg football program, Frasure earned all-district and all-region honors in each of his four high school seasons. He was named all-state three times. Frasure was named to the 2016 Class of the Commonwealth Team and helped Prestonsburg win two region titles.

Morehead State has six home games as part of its 11-game schedule for the 2016 season. The Eagles are slated to host Lincoln (Pa.) (Sept. 17) for a home opener and Family Weekend. Morehead State is slated to entertain Marist (Oct. 15) for Homecoming.
