Staff Report

ALLEN – The Kinzer Motorsports raceteam trekked south to Boyd’s Speedway in Ringgold, Georgia on Friday evening for its event over the busy Memorial Day holiday weekend. Vetearn driver Brandon Kinzer finished 20th in an Old Man’s Garage Spring Nationals Series feature race.

The Old Man’s Garage Spring Nationals tour visited the Chattanooga-area venue and a $4,000 winner’s check was up for grabs. Brandon Kinzer laid down the seventh quickest time in his group during the qualifying session and later ran second in his consolation event behind only prelim winner Dale McDowell. After starting the 40-lap main event from the outside of the fifth row, passing was at a premium throughout the distance and Kinzer eventually wound up slipping back to 12th.

Mike Marlar won the feature race. Kinzer was the only Kentucky driver in the feature event.
