ALLEN – New Wesley Christian High School boys’ basketball head coach Dave Meddings is preparing to conduct a youth camp. The Wesley Christian Youth Basketball Camp will be held June 28-30 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. each day at WCHS.

The camp is open to boys and girls ages 5-15 and will include instruction from Meddings, members of his coaching staff and others. Wesley Christian players and guest speakers will also appear at the camp.

The Wesley Christian Youth Basketball Camp will feature skills training and carious competitions. Prizes will be awarded as well.

Cost of the camp is $60 per player. Any sibling may attend the camp for $40. Each player will receive a camp shirt.

Meddings was a former coach at both Union College and Huntington Prep. He has coached 36 NCAA Division I players, including 2015 NBA Rookie of the Year Andrew Wiggins.

Meddings was named Wesley Christian High School boys’ basketball head coach in April.

“I am excited for the opportunity Wesley Christian and the members of the school and community are giving me to be the head coach of their program,” Meddings said, shortly after being announced as the Riders’ new head coach. “Wesley has had some great seasons the past few years and what Coach (Jack) Jarrell has built is amazing and a great accomplishment. I am extremely fortunate to have the trust of them to come in and help take Wesley to a national level competitively.”
