ALLEN – Veteran dirt Late Model driver Brandon Kinzer and his No. 18 team invaded the legendary Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana on Saturday evening to help celebrate Independence Day with the inaugural running of the ‘Born Free 40.’ The unsanctioned Super Late Model special at the 1/4-mile track boasted a $5,000 winner’s check and eventually yielded a top-three finish for the Floyd Countian.
Kinzer laid down the third-quickest lap overall and in his group during the qualifying session. Then, following the qualifying effort, Kinzer nabbed a strong third-place finish in his heat race. After starting the 40-lap main event from the inside of the fourth row, Kinzer drove his No. 18 MB Customs mount to as high as second in the running order before eventually winding up third at the finish line behind only winner Dustin Linville and runner-up Scott James.
