Prestonsburg Open set for June 17-19

PRESTONSBURG – The Appalachian Tennis Series is poised to host its second Prestonsburg Open at Archer Park June 17-19.

Area tennis players of all ages will compete on the Archer Park courts during the highly-anticipated upcoming tournament.

The Prestonsburg Open will include boys’ singles, boys’ doubles, girls’ singles, girls’ doubles, men’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s singles, women’s doubles, senior men’s singles’, senior women’s singles and mixed doubles divisions.

The junior events will be divided into 12-, 14-, 16- and 18-year-old age groups.

The men’s, women’s and mixed divisions will be divided into A, B and C classification by the NTRP ratings.

The senior men’s division will include 40 and over, 50 and over and 60 and over classes.

The senior women’s division will only include the 40 and over class.

Players are allowed to participate in up to three divisions, but only one singles, one doubles and one mixed doubles event. Divisions may be combined if registration is too low.

A discount for the entry fee is available for ATS members. The ATS member entry fee is $20 for one event, $30 for two events and $40 for three events.

The non-ATS member entry fee for the tournament is $25 for one event, $40 for two events and $50 for three events.

All entry forms for the Prestonsburg Open must be completed and received by mail, fax or online by no later than 5 p.m. on June 15. The first 50 entrants for the local tennis tournament will receive a T-shirt.
