PIKEVILLE – Former University of Pikeville (UPIKE) guard Jackson Hussey is back home in Australia. Hussey has signed with the Geraldton Buccaneers in Australia’s SBL league.

The productive Hussey averaged 8.6 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game for the Bears in the 2015-16 season.

Hussey graduated from the University of Pikeville earlier in the year. He helped the Bears to end the regular-season as the second-best team in Mid-South Conference (MSC).

In 24 games for the Bears during the 2014-15 season, Hussey averaged 9.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.2 steals per game. He was a strong contributor as UPIKE made it the NAIA Division I Elite Eight.

Hussey is the latest Kelly Wells-coached player to sign a professional basketball contract. Wells has coached several players who have went on to play basketball professionally, both overseas and here in the United States.
