PORTSMOUTH, Ohio – Modified driver Ervin Vance wasn’t quite content with winning the Thunder in the Mountains feature race at 201 Speedway on Friday night. Vance drove to a feature win in the the R.W. Rental and Supplies Modified class at Portsmouth Raceway Park after running second early in the race.

The Portsmouth Raceway Park-hosted Modified feature race featured an early battle as Vance and Lucasville, Ohio driver Jeremy Rayburn jockeyed for position over the first 14 laps. Rayburn led the first 13 laps before Vance moved around him to take the lead. After moving ahead, Vance held off all challenges from Rayburn to earn the feature win.

Rayburn finished second behind Vance.

David McWilliams, Jimmy Lennex, Jeremy Hayes, Brian Skaggs, and Drew Bender completed the top 10. Another driver from Floyd County, Hayes was the race’s Markwest Ranger Pipeline Hard Charger after moving up six positions.
