MOORESVILLE, N.C. – Harrison Burton, the 15 year-old-son of former NASCAR driver and current NBC commentator Jeff Burton, will make his ARCA Racing Series debut in the No. 8 DEX Imaging entry for Ranier Racing with MDM at Iowa Speedway during the upcoming weekend.
The younger Burton, who is currently competing in his first full-time NASCAR ride, is a member of the prestigious NASCAR Next program for 2016 and is also competing for Rookie-of-the-Year honors in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series. DEX Imagining, which has supported Burton’s racing activities since 2013, will continue its involvement as primary sponsor of Burton in his ARCA Racing Series debut at the .875-mile oval in Newton, Iowa.
“I’m really excited to race in the ARCA Series for the first time and the opportunity to do it with a first-class program is amazing,” stated the younger Burton, who will pilot the same car that Brandon Jones drove to victory at Michigan International Speedway last month. “I hope to go to Iowa and compete for the win, but my main focus will be to learn as much as possible and continue to improve as a young driver. I’m so fortunate to have this opportunity and to have a partner in DEX Imaging that believes in me and my future.”
Harrison Burton holds the distinction of being the youngest driver to compete in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series at 15 years and 8 days old, and will be one of the youngest competitors when he makes his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut in October at Martinsville Speedway, less than three weeks after his 16th birthday.
