The Lady Raiders will open the 2016 season in mid-August.


HI HAT – In preparation for the upcoming season, the South Floyd volleyball program attended camp at the University of Kentucky (UK) earlier in the week. South Floyd faced multiple opponents during the UK-hosted high school event.

The Lady Raiders are under the direction of young head coach Kelsey Tackett. Kiana Hall is an assistant coach on the South Floyd coaching staff.

Tackett guided the Lady Raiders in her first season as a head coach in 2015. South Floyd ended the 2015 season 14-12.

The Lady Raiders suffered a shutout loss to host Allen Central in the first round of the 2015 58th District Volleyball Tournament. South Floyd finished eighth in the final 2015 15th Region volleyball standings.

The Lady Raiders are scheduled to host 14th Region member Jackson City for a season-opener on Aug. 15. South Floyd’s 2016 schedule will include additional regular-season matches versus familiar foes Betsy Layne, Allen Central, Pike County Central, Belfry, Prestonsburg and Sheldon Clark, among others.

The Lady Raiders compete with Allen Central, Betsy Layne and Prestonsburg in the 58th District/Floyd County Conference.
