Vance takes another PRP feature

Ervin Vance won his fifth Modified feature in the 2016 season at Portsmouth Raceway Park on Saturday night.


PORTSMOUTH, Ohio – Floyd County driver Ervin Vance made yet another trip to victory lane over the weekend, winning a Portsmouth Raceway Park Modified feature race for the fifth time in the 2016 season on Saturday night.

Vance dominated in the R.W. Rental and Supplies Modified class. The Floyd County driver led every lap on his way to winning his fifth PRP feature of the season. Jeremy Rayburn, Jody Puckett, Michael Paul Howard, Jim Barnett, Ben Adkins, Adam Jordan, Jeremy Hayes, Justin Cooper, and Anthony Slusher rounded out the top 10 in the Portsmouth Raceway Park feature event.

Puckett was The Markwest Ranger Pipeline Hard Charger after advancing 10 positions during the race.

Nick Bocook prevailed in the Giovanni’s Pizza Late Model A-Main, outracing Audie Swartz to the finish line.

Lee Logan placed third in the Late Model race. Polesitter and quick qualifier Shannon Thornsberry, another racer from Floyd County, finished fourth. Kenny Christy rounded out the top 5. Robbie Lewis, Kenneth Howell, Dennis Little, Kevin Wagner, and Erick Christian closed out the top 10.

Portsmouth Raceway Park will host wingless sprint cars when it returns to action on Saturday, July 23. Lemley Motorsports will present the Boss Wingless Sprint Car Series, which will make its first-ever visit to PRP. Late Models, Modifieds, and Bombers will also be on the card during the Portsmouth venue’s upcoming racenight.
