PORTSMOUTH, Ohio – Floyd Countian Ervin Vance continued to dominate in dirt track racing over the weekend, winning the Modified feature at familiar Portsmouth Raceway Park on Saturday night.
A veteran driver, Vance earned his sixth feature win of the season at the Ohio track.
Vance fared well throughout the Modified feature race.
Shawn Westerfield (Sprint), Jackie Boggs (Late Model) and Zack Pendleton (Bomber) also captured feature wins in their respective classes.
Vance kept his winning streak intact at Portsmouth Raceway Park, setting quick time in the R.W. Rental and Supplies Modified Division just as he has in every race throughout the season. For posting the fast time, Vance earned $215 from Lemley Motorsports. But that wasn’t the only paycheck pocketed by the current PRP points leader.
For the sixth time in eight races, Vance took the checkered flag in the Modified A-Main.
However, Vance had to work a little harder than he had in some of his other victories. The Beaver-based driver led the first lap before relinquishing the lead to Jody Puckett, who would be the frontrunner through lap 12. On the 13th circuit, Vance reclaimed the lead and held on to take the win.
