SITKA – Brandon Kinzer and his No. 18 team rolled into 201 Speedway on Saturday evening to compete in the annual running of the ‘Hatfield & McCoy Feudin’ 50.’ The Iron Man Mountain Championship Series presided over the single-day showdown with a $5,000 winner’s up for grabs. Kinzer, a veteran driver, managed to place in the top 15.

The Floyd County native laid down the second fastest lap overall during the qualifying session and later scored the victory in heat race action.

Kinzer was well on his way to a podium performance during the 50-lap headliner before a vibration late in the race caused him to head pitside. He had to settle for a 14th place finish.

Jackie Boggs, another longtime Late Model driver, won the 201 Speedway-hosted feature race.
