District 7 finishes pool play unbeaten, falls after 3-0 start

Kentucky (District 7) finished pool play undefeated in the Junior League Baseball Central Region Tournament in Fort Wayne, Indiana.


FORT WAYNE, Ind. – District 7 (Kentucky) defeated Poland (Ohio) 14-4 on Tuesday evening to finish pool play 3-0 at the Junior League Baseball Central Region Tournament.

District 7 features players from Beaver Creek, Harold-Allen-Prater, Paintsville and Prestonsburg Little League charters. The team is under the direction of head coach Tim Welch.

District 7 earned the two seed in Pool. The Kentucky squad outscored its opponents 39-11 in the three pool play games.

Bedford (Ind.) earned the one seed in the tournament.

Kentucky doubled up Illinois 10-5 on Monday.

After reeling off three straight wins in pool play, Kentucky stumbled on Wednesday.

Midland Northeast/Fraternal Northwest (Mich.) dealt Kentucky a loss on Wednesday, defeating the District 7-based squad 10-4.
