Adams captures RBC title

The Adams Middle School Lady Blackcats won the Right Beaver Classic championship.


EASTERN – Earlier in the month, the Adams Middle School girls’ basketball team started its 2016 season with three consecutive wins at Allen Central Middle School to capture the Right Beaver Classic championship.

Adams, under the direction of head coach Mark Martin, won its second Right Beaver Classic title in three seasons.

Adams 40, Allen 12: Alivia Slone scored a game-high 14 points and Shelby Hatfield netted eight points as Adams defeated rival Allen 40-12 in the opening round of the River Beaver Classic.

Laci Castle and Courtney Stamper contributed six points apiece for the Lady Rebels in the victory. Rounding out the Adams Middle School scoring, Ava Hyden, Celina Mullins and Kimi Slone chipped in two points apiece.

Adams 38, Betsy Layne 5: Adams turned in an even more impressive performance in the semifinals of the Right Beaver Classic, beating Betsy Layne 38-5. Alivia Slone scored a game-high 17 points and Courtney Stamper tossed in 12 points for the Lady Blackcats in the win.

Shelby Hatfield Hatfield scored four points while Ava Hyden and Celina Mullins posted two apiece.

Adams 36, South Floyd 20: Adams topped South Floyd 36-20 in the championship game of the Right Beaver Classic at Adams Middle School.

Alivia Slone poured in a game-high 23 points to lead Adams to the championship-clinching win.

Shelby Hatfield scored six points, Laci Castle provided four and Kimi Slone tossed in two for the Lady Blackcats.

Rounding out the Adams individual scoring, Celina Mullins netted one point.
